The Key to a Classic Gated Synth Sound in Pro Tools
Written by ptkt on September 18, 2008
In this video Chris shows you how to create a classic synth sound using the key input on the Digidesign Expander/Gate plug-in, an old Boss drum machine hihat sample and the Xpand virtual instrument. This is a must-see for everyone producing music!

This tutorial gave me the much needed visual that I’d been craving! I just saw a video in class today that spoke about the gate in ProTools having this ability! You were like the icing on the cake! What other video tutorials do you offer? Do you have a tutorial on setting up a midi track in ProTools? I have so many questions but there’s not enough room to ask them all!
